Malaysia's Unemployment

Domestic unemployment rate may rise to 4.5% by year-end from 3.7% last year, according to International Trade and Industry Deputy Minister Datuk Mukhriz Tun Mahathir.

“To us, the figure is high and we have never reached this high a figure before. At the same time, we are trying to reduce the jobless rate,” he told reporters after launching the Third National Internship Challenge yesterday. He said most factories that had laid off workers had begun to take back former employees after demand picked up. As of July 7, Mukhriz said, statistics compiled by the Human Resources Ministry showed a cumulative figure of 38,732 workers retrenched due to the economic crisis.

Upon coming to the 8th month of this 2009, there were nothing concrete (noticeable seen) executed to minimise the unemployment. Mostly are talks. The main reason is that our ministers, DPM and PM are too busy trying to 'battle' in out with the oppossition in the political arena. Little afford and more so serious methodology is look into to keep Malaysia in the competitive edge. Just look at how much propaganda being done for 1 Malaysia concept which is nothing new about it. Most of us makes it in the true form minus the faking, branding, talking. When will Malaysia arise to it true calling?
